Life can be overwhelming sometimes. If you are anything like us, it seems like most days you find yourself out of breath, wondering where the time went. We have lived our lives this way for so long, but we are finally learning the importance of making time to really experience the world around us. Each month, we dedicate a day to pamper ourselves and spend some much needed girl-time together. The laughs shared, stress relieved, and pure joy experienced of just being around good people is something we’ll cherish forever. Our girl’s spa days are amazing!
Lazy mornings are our favorite and especially on spa day. We wake around 8 am, lay in bed until we have to get up, and then take a warm shower. We like to wear loose clothes on days like these – nothing too constricting and form-fitting. Light make-up is best as most of it will wash off in the spa.
It always seems like we haven’t seen each other in ages (even though it’s really only been a week). Meeting at our favorite local coffee shop, East Pass Coffee Co., or Local Market, a fantastic breakfast and lunch spot, is a morning started off on the right foot. We catch up on the latest news as we all sip our coffee and enjoy a light breakfast. Soon after, we load up and head over to the spa.
We have two spas in Destin that we love to visit: The Spa at Emerald Grande and The Spa at Silver Shells. Both offer impeccable customer service and result in a luxurious day of pampering, relaxation, and rejuvenation. The hot stone massage is the perfect go-to or sometimes seasonal specials come out. For example, this fall, the Emerald Grande Spa had a bourbon marshmallow butter treatment, leaving our skin buttery soft and delicious. The cranberry bourbon mani-pedi didn’t disappoint either! The Silver Shells Spa has a salon inside, making it a one-stop-shop for all things girl.
Laughing and enjoying each other’s company, our group of friends undeniably enjoys these afternoons together. Work gets cancelled for the rest of the day, and we end the afternoon with a delightful date night – with just the girls of course!
Best friends don’t let friends make this mistake, especially at dinnertime. Our favorite dinner spots in Destin range from fresh sushi at Harbordocks to a savory steak from McGuire’s Irish Pub. When craving Italian, we head over to Mimmo’s, and for the Mexican-date nights, we check into La Paz (but these date nights require margaritas!) Below are our personal dinner recommendations, but everything you find on the menus is scrumptious!
