One of the top asked questions these days is, “Where can I find outdoor dining along the Florida Panhandle?” Well, look no further! We’ve done the homework for you and have compiled a list of the local eateries who are offering outdoor dining. Whether it’s waterfront, or tucked away on the side, you’ll enjoy a fresh breeze, amazing food, and oftentimes live music at some of our favorite local restaurants in Destin, Miramar Beach, and 30A. Bon apetit!
Beachwalk Café – If you’re looking for a one-of-a-kind, romantic date spot, then head over The Henderson Park’s Beachwalk Café. With stunning beachfront views, a luxurious menu, and excellent service, this is a 5 star experience every time. They also offer a private Toes in the Sand dining experience, if you’re really aiming to impress.
Boathouse – One of the local’s favorite places in town is Boathouse Oyster Bar. This open-air restaurant is conveniently perched on the Destin Harbor. Watch the dolphins as they play and swim by, while sipping on a cold cocktail and some fresh oysters. This is a great place to catch local bands and singers, so make sure to put your party pants on.
Boshamps – The iconic Boshamps boasts bold flavors, amazing Destin Harbor views, and plenty of outdoor seating for the whole gang. We really love this spot because they have a small enclosed beach area, safe for the kids to play in, and perfect for the adults to kick back and relax.
Brotula’s – Another famous Harbor-front restaurant is Brotula’s. While they have plenty of indoor seating available, their outdoor deck is pretty awesome. Watch the fishing boats as they come back in each day, and order seafood steamer platters that are finger lickin’ good!
Dewey Destin’s – Tucked away on the Bay, facing Crab Island, you’ll find the original Dewey Destin’s. This is a family tradition for so many, and they have some of the best seafood in town. Sit out on the dock, and let the cool breeze flow through your hair, or join for dinner at their Harbor-front location.
East Pass – One of Destin’s newest eateries is located along the Destin Harbor. East Pass offers fresh-caught seafood and oysters that are delish! The harbor views are quite lovely from the upper deck, and don’t forget to treat yourself with a crafty adult beverage!
Harry T’s – There’s no cooler place in town than at Harborwalk Village‘s Harry T’s waterfront restaurant. Their 180* back patio overlooks the Destin Harbor where all the fishing boats come in and dolphins are always splashin’ around. This is a great place to watch a sports game, sip on a cold brew, and afterwards, stroll around the shops and family-friendly activities along the Harbor.
LuLu’s – Kids of all ages agree that LuLu’s in Destin is their favorite place to go! With a beach area, playground, and more, this waterfront dining spot is all the rave. They have scrumptious eats, juicy cocktails, and a cute gift shop. The seating is open-air style, so you shouldn’t feel too cramped here.
Tailfins – Choose between 3 levels of awesomeness over at the Destin Harbor’s Tailfins restaurant. This local eatery is always a happenin’ spot. Whether you’re catching a game, enjoying a relaxing afternoon stroll along the Harbor, or seeking a yummy meal with family and friends, this open seating floorplan is absolutely wonderful.
Beach House – Located in the prestigious Sandestin Resort, you’ll find The Beach House restaurant. With panoramic views of the Gulf, there’s no bad seat here. Everything on the menu is absolutely fantastic, and if you go for dinner, you’ll be delighted with one of the most epic sunset views in town. INSIDER TIP: Locals, make sure to ask about their local’s key card!
Marina Bar and Grille – Another Sandestin favorite is the Marina Bar and Grille. Delight your tastebuds with great food and drink. This laid back atmosphere is pretty awesome. After your meal, check out the boats at the Sandestin Marina, or venture over to The Village of Baytowne Wharf for boutique shopping, family-friendly events, and much more!
Royal Palm Grille – Chances are you’ve most likely passed by this restaurant a zillion times and never noticed it. Located on Old Highway 98, Royal Palm Grille has a newly expanded dining deck with Gulf views, event room, beach bar, and tiki bar (open seasonally). They can also coordinate beach bonfires, and for those looking to eat privately, choose their take out option.
Sunset Bay Café – One of our favorite breakfast and brunch spots is Sandestin’s Sunset Bay Café. Let the smell of bacon excite you, and try one of their famous bloody mary’s. They have both indoor and outdoor seating available, with amazing views of the bay.
Surf Hut – Enjoy epic beach views, savory seafood, and cool cocktails over at Surf Hut, on Old Highway 98. From surf ‘n turf and fish tacos, to shrimp kabobs and Southern-style barbecue ribs, there’s something here for everyone.
Whale’s Tail – A local staple in the community is Whale’s Tail, located on Old Highway 98. This beach bar is so much fun, and a great spot for a quick lunch or dinner. Soak in stunning 180* beach views, sip on a hand-crafted cocktail, and let all your worries fade away.
Amigos Mexican Kitchen – Voted the best Mexican in 30A, you must try Amigos Mexican Kitchen. This lively atmosphere is always a blast, and of course the food is fantastic. They have plenty of outdoor seating, a full bar, and some of the best service in town.
The Bay – Make your reservations over at The Bay today! This is a popular eatery, located waterfront, on, well…the bay, of course! Most of their dining area is outside, with a few tables setting inside. Enjoy mouth-watering Gulf Coast cuisine, sushi, and excellent wine and beer options. They also offer take out and delivery services.
Bud and Alley’s – The iconic Bud and Alley’s is located in Seaside, and offers outdoor dining or take out. Their Rooftop Bar is one of the best places in town to catch a sunset, so if you plan dinner accordingly, you can have an amazing view while sipping on delicious wine and scrumptious entrees.
Chiringo – Stop in at this casual beachside bar and eatery in historic Grayton Beach. Choose from their fun green space, bar area, or main dining room with Gulf views for a savory meal and good times. The drinks are stiff here, and the food is packed full of amazing flavors.
Crackings – This locally owned breakfast and lunch restaurant is one of our personal favorites. They have plenty of outdoor seating, and schedule live music every morning. The outdoor space is also pet-friendly, making this the perfect spot for the entire family!
Grayton Seafood Co. – You’re going to love Grayton Seafood Co. They are all outdoor dining, making this an ideal option in the 30A area. Reservations are accepted here, so text them right away to get on the wait list!
Local Catch – One of the local’s favorites, Local Catch offers open outdoor seating options, as well as their inside restaurant. They have tons of fresh seafood selections, and their cocktails are quite delightful. Pop in for some live music, dancing, and a fun atmosphere.
Lola’s Coastal Italian – You’ll find pizza, pasta, and more at Lola’s Coastal Italian. They have comfortable seating inside, as well as outdoor tables. Savor a delicious meal, and cheers your wine glass for the perfect date night.
Old Florida Fish House – The entire family will fall in love with Old Florida Fish House. Sitting waterfront on Eastern Lake, you can dine indoors or outside. They always have something going on here: Mojito Monday, Kid’s Eat Free hour, Karaoke, Sunday Brunch, and live music…and that’s just to name a few!
Shunk Gulley – We’ve landed on of our top-picks in the area! Shunk Gulley has the best oysters in town, and a huge outdoor dining section. They also have an upstairs bar and seating area where you can watch the waves rolling in off the beach. Nearly every night of the week, they have live performances by local musicians and singers.
Cynefin Intimate Beach Gatherings – Forget all the hustle and bustle of busy restaurants, and plan your own private beach picnic. The ladies over at Cynefin are dynamite and can help you coordinate the most intimate, stunning setting you’ve ever seen.
