I’ve spent years tossing around ideas on how to best present our sofa sleeper bedding. I’ve thought, “Maybe, just maybe, if we roll it this way…” or “If we put it here…” All dead end trails them being tossed around and guests having to question why a random set of sheets is laying around. NOT ANYMORE!!!
Before we dive into the solution, let’s spend a few minutes diving into the WHY this is a problem. I am a firm believer that if you don’t know why, solutions are loose protocols in place that no one will understand the value of – almost guaranteeing their failure.
Things to consider
- OPERATIONS: How will your team transport the sofa sleeper bedding back and forth (both used and the new set)?
- OPERATIONS: How does your team know if the sofa sleeper bedding has been used or not?
- GUEST EXPERIENCE: How does a guest know you have left them a clean set of sheets to use for the sofa sleeper?
- GUEST EXPERIENCE: How easy is it for the guest to locate the sofa sleeper bedding? Are they calling you to ask where to find the sheets?
- GUEST EXPERIENCE: Are the sheets left low to the ground and/or unpackaged, meaning dust, hair, etc. can easily accumulate on them?
Possible Solutions
- Roll the sheet set. Wrap with twine, ribbon, or even cellophane. To get fancy, add a sticker with your logo/vacation rental name & indicate “sleeper sheets”.
- DRUMROLL PLEASE! Purchase plastic bags with the cutest little sign & leave in an easily noticed space for the guest.
