We love celebrating birthdays at the beach! Whether you keep it simple and low-key, or go all out, the possibilities are endless. We’ve hand-picked our favorite local vendors who can make sure your birthday surprise is oh-so-epic. And no fear, all of these vendors are available for anniversaries, weddings, bachelorette parties, and more! Now, let’s get to planning and celebrating!
Bake My Day – This Destin appointment-based bakery specializes in custom cakes that will blow you away. Let the sweet flavors melt in your mouth, but before, make sure you take plenty of photos. Their cakes are gorgeous…so gorgeous, you may not even want to eat it!
Callahan’s – A Destin favorite for lunch, Callahan’s is your out-of-the-way local’s spot that makes some of the most delicious cakes in the universe. No custom cakes here, but I promise the minute you stick that fork in your mouth, you won’t regret it. Their cakes are uhh-mazing!
Coastal Cookies – Have you ever seen those perfect sugar cookies in the magazines? I’m pretty sure they’re over at Coastal Cookies, just snappin’ away! This local bakery makes the most adorable (and delish) custom-ordered cookies that you’ll devour in seconds. These photos of your desert trays will be epic!
Donut Hole – While we generally suggest these guys for a great breakfast, they also dish up some amazing pies, cakes, and of course, donuts! You won’t really find custom orders here, but if you’re in a pinch, this is a great place to grab a fresh, made from scratch desert to share.
Jillian’s Sugar Shack – One of our favorite small-town recommendations, Jillian’s, offers custom cakes, cupcakes, and cookie cakes. Her designs always amaze us, and there’s not a one we haven’t wanted to run over and try – like the chocolate cupcake filled with chocolate ganache and chocolate buttercream icing… YUM!
Smallcakes – We definitely can’t pass up the recommendation for Destin’s Smallcakes. Specializing in gourmet cupcakes and cakes, you’ll find unique flavors, beautiful designs, and affordable rates here.
Sweet Henrietta’s – The local buzzwords in 30A lately include “Sweet Henrietta’s”! And yes, they’re just that popular! Check out their coffee and sweet shop, and if you’re looking for a special order cake, this is hand’s down, one of your best options in town.
Vicky’s Sweet Paradise – You’re going to jump with joy when you see Vickey’s custom cakes and cupcakes. She does an excellent job at bringing your vision to life, but remember to book in advance as her hands are full of icing and other sweet treats. We’d hate for you to miss out!
Fancy Grass – We love stepping outside and being surprised by big pop ups in the front yard. They have a cute sign for any event you can imagine!
Happy Helium Destin – This local company will blow you away with their amazing and fun balloon arches and designs. Take your party to the next level with these adorbs decorations.
Mingle – Providing boutique balloon arrangements, this group can make you go, “WOW!” the moment you step inside your vacation rental. With elaborate designs, you won’t be disappointed!
Seaside Celebration Signs – Ready to flamingle into your forties? Or perhaps game your way into double digits? This small town shop has some cute yard signs that are sure to brighten your day!
Have a meal catered by Swiftly Catered or Marrow Private Chefs right in the comforts of your vacation home!
Order a charcuterie board from the Blue Magnolia, or our dear friend over at Buon Appetito 30A. P.S. If you grab a few bottles of wine from the store, you can make this your very own private wine tasting event, hosted by yours truly!
Host a beach bonfire (Walton County only) – this is seriously SO. MUCH. FUN! Our favorites are: Salty Girls Beach Setups, the Bonfire Guy, or Shore Fires 30A.
Go sailing with Smile N’ Wave, or spend the day at Crab Island with Cruisin’ Tikis of Destin. Swim with the fish with Destin Snorkel, and catch a sunset boat tour with Southern Star dolphin cruises.
